Chef Francesco Sposito

Chef Sposito found his passion at the tender age of 15 while working alongside his father in their kitchen.

Upon completing a classical education at University, he realized his calling and returned to work in his family’s restaurant while experimenting with various cooking techniques, to include cryogenic cooking.

Chef’s curiosity continued to drive him further afield and led him to work in the kitchens of some large Italian and French restaurants outside of Campania in order to hone his craft.

After training outside of his family’s restaurant for a few years, Chef assumed responsibility for the kitchen in 2005, and the modern Taverna d’Estia was born. The kitchen was completely modernized and became his laboratory, using local ingredients and history to transform his ideas into reality.

-November 2007, at only 25 years old, Chef’s restaurant earned his first Michelin Star.



In 2009 he joined the Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe family.

In 2010 he is the best Emerging Chef in Italy by the Gambero Rosso Guide.

In 2012 he received a double award is the young man of the year for the Espresso Guide and for the BMW Italy Guide, that is, what is considered the most promising talent for the future of Italian cuisine.

In 2015 his dishes are the inspiration for the exhibition "De Gustibus" by the artist Vanni Cuoghi in Caserta. The Three Hats of L'Espresso's Restaurants in Italy guide and the second Michelin Star are coming.

In 2017 he obtained the Three Forks from the Gambero Rosso restaurant guide of Italy.
